Summertime wreaks havoc on our skin. We are out and about more and exposed to many more “irritants” than usual. We also get so busy with summer living that we often put our skincare regimen on the back burner. We put some products on and forget about others. We often stop our Retin A and retinoids completely
One of the best and quickest ways to get your skin back on track is with chemical peels. Chemical peels cause visible exfoliation, improves fine lines and texture, and lightens the extra pigment that has popped up over the summer
I personally, do 3 chemical peels in the fall, one in the winter, and one again in the spring. I think, at age 51, they play a major role in my face not having many visible lines. The ingredient I like the most is TCA, #trichloroacetic acid. The percentage used is based on the problem I am trying to fix. Also the more passes I do, the deeper this ingredient goes.
Is TCA for everybody? Yes, however if you don’t want to peel as much or have as much downtime, you can go with different peels that have other good ingredients like #salicylic acid, #lactic acid and #retinol. FYI- the chemical peels that I use on my face have all of the ingredients mentioned!
With most peels, you will start to peel on day 2-3 and peel through day 7. With TCA, depending on the strength, you will start to peel on day 2-3 and peel through day 7-11.
Now is the time to get “Summertime” off!
