Inverted nipple surgery is usually performed as an outpatient procedure using local anesthesia. First, Dr. Stephens will make a tiny incision around the border of the nipple or just underneath the nipple. Then, depending on your treatment plan, he will detach the shortened milk duct from the nipple or reshape the nipple without detaching the milk duct. Finally, he will close the incision and apply bandages. The surgery typically takes around 30 minutes to complete.
AFTER YOUR INVERTED NIPPLE PROCEDURE
You may experience some swelling and bruising after your surgery, but you should be able to return to your normal routine in only about a day. However, you should avoid strenuous exercise for at least one to two weeks.
