Radiesse is a popular cosmetic injectable that can achieve significant results in restoring a younger-looking you. Radiesse is an FDA-approved dermal filler that reduces volume loss and encourages your body’s natural collagen production.
WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR RESTYLANE®?
Radiesse is a safe and effective treatment option for most healthy adults who are in good health. It can be used for a variety of skin tones and types, and it may be a good alternative for those who are not interested in surgical procedures. Ideal candidates are:
Over the age of 21
Not pregnant or breastfeeding
Not allergic to lidocaine
Not suffering from any type of bleeding disorder or skin infection
In general good health

Radiesse is a soft, white gel substance made from calcium microspheres that can be injected into the face to replenish lost volume and create a more youthful look. It can be used on scars and the backs of the hands. A combination of Botox and fillers like Radiesse get the best results when combined with aesthetic services such as medical-grade skincare products, Matrix RF, or microneedling for fine lines, wrinkles, and texture/pore improvement.
When Radiesse is injected into the skin, its microspheres trigger collagen production, which smooths and reduces the appearance of wrinkles, deeper lines, and folds. Collagen is a basic building block of new, fresh skin, which allows your face to regain a supple, smooth, and youthful appearance.
The tiny calcium-based microspheres form a frame within your skin to support and stimulate this growth of collagen. Because Radiesse is calcium-based, it can last longer than other fillers do. In addition to its long-lasting benefits, it also gives more structural support than other fillers, making it a go-to for lifting the eyebrows, cheeks, and other areas that may need a lift. This gives the face a firm, yet elastic, look. The results are a more contoured and youthful facial structure.
HOW DOES RADIESSE® WORK?

Radiesse is injected into the skin through a simple and minimally invasive procedure in the comfort of our office. The product will be carefully injected with a small needle or cannula into specific areas of concern. You may experience some pinching or discomfort at the injection site, but most patients report little to no pain, saying it’s nowhere near as bad as they thought it would be.
At Skincare Aesthetics of Baton Rouge, we continue to stay up-to-date with the most innovative techniques and injection patterns in aesthetic medicine. This includes the cannula — a blunt-tipped, hollow tube that offers an alternative to a needle. We are one of the few clinics in Baton Rouge that offers the use of a cannula for multiple injection areas.
This technique is excellent because it improves safety, minimizes discomfort and downtime, and reduces likelihood of complications and trauma to the tissues. Radiesse treatments are quick and convenient, and you’ll be able to return to your regular day as soon as it is complete.
There is no downtime after Radiesse. Once the treatment is complete, you can get right back to your life and your usual activities. However, we do recommend that you refrain from alcohol, exercise, heat, and sun exposure for 24 hours after treatment to help with healing.
You may notice some tenderness, bruising, or swelling in the treatment areas. This is normal and will subside quickly. In rare cases, some bruising and swelling can last up to two weeks.
During your consultation with us, we will give you specific post-treatment directions to help minimize side effects.
After Your RADIESSE® TREATMENT
Fillers reach their peak look after settling into the area (typically after two weeks), but you can see immediate results. We recommend follow-up visits so that we can check out your progress once bruising and swelling have subsided. Results will vary for each person and may last for up to a year. A series of regular treatments is often recommended to achieve and maintain the best results.
