CHEMICAL PEEL TREATMENT DETAILS
Chemical peels take approximately 30-60 minutes. Before your peel is administered, your skin will be cleansed and prepped. We may also provide you with a mild local anesthetic if your peel will be more aggressive. The chemical solution is applied directly to the skin. As it dries, you may feel it tingling or burning a little. While the majority of patients find the treatment very tolerable, we encourage you to let us know if you’re too uncomfortable. When the peel is ready to be removed, we will clean it off and proceed to infuse your skin with topical skincare products.
HOW A CHEMICAL PEEL WORKS
A chemical peel gets rid of debris in the pores such as old makeup, oil, dirt, and sebum. The treatment also removes the upper level of damaged skin and uncovers the refreshed skin beneath. The result is clearer, softer, healthier skin.
AFTER YOUR CHEMICAL PEEL TREATMENT
Your specific downtime will be determined by the type of chemical peel you have at our Baton Rouge location. For example, light peels allow you to go back to your regular day immediately.
Deeper peels are more aggressive and will require more downtime. During your consultation with us, we will go over the right peel for you and what you can expect during recovery.
