LIP FILLER TREATMENT
These days, many individuals are looking for plump, smooth, well-defined lips. Whether your lips are showing signs of age or, like many others, you’re simply looking for that perfect pout, we proudly offer lip fillers at Stephens Plastic Surgery & Skincare Aesthetics of Baton Rouge.

WHAT IS LIP FILLER?
Many people want fuller, more noticeable lips, as this feature has come into the forefront of beauty. Plump, well-defined lips are a sign of youth, and for those whose lips are naturally thin or who have thinning lips due to age, lip fillers are often the answer. Lip fillers can help our Baton Rouge patients create their perfect shape, volume, and appearance with the simple step of an injection, providing the lip augmentation you want without the need for surgery. Lip injections are a safe and simple procedure for lip augmentation. The lip filler is injected directly into the lips, a process that takes no more than 15 minutes from the time you begin until you’re ready to leave the office.

WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME FOR LIP FILLER?
If you aren’t satisfied with the shape or volume of your lips, it may be time to think about lip augmentation. Injectables are one of our top procedures at Skincare Aesthetics of Baton Rouge, and we are excited to offer personalized treatments for the many patients who are looking for this popular enhancement procedure.
WHAT IS HYALURONIC ACID?
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural substance that is found within the body. HA works with collagen and elastin to provide volume and support to the skin.
As you age, your body produces less hyaluronic acid and the lips become thinner. Lip augmentation using HA-based injectable fillers helps reverse this effect, resulting in beautifully plump, shapely lips.
AFTER YOUR LIP FILLER TREATMENT
With both Juvéderm or Restylane lip augmentation, you can expect minor bruising, redness and swelling. You may also feel some lumpiness. All of these side effects will resolve within a week. There’s no downtime, and you can get right back to your life and usual activities once the treatment is complete. Results look and feel natural, lasting for up to a year before the lip filler is gradually and naturally processed by the body.
Patients may want more fillers after the initial swelling has subsided. Building up over time with more lip filler, especially for those with naturally thin lips, can be best achieved by injecting no more than one syringe per month.
Depending on how quickly your body processes the filler and how much volume of filler was placed, the average patient sees their results for 6-8 months. Some patients have reported results that have lasted up to a year.
